Otxaran, Bodegas Virgen de Lorea

A family winery rooted in a privileged land.

Otxaran is the wine brand of Bodegas Virgen de Lorea. It was born in the Otxaran valley, in Bizkaia, from a family history tied to the vineyard, the land and a unique way of making txakoli.

With deep
roots.

Since the 18th century, the Laiseca family has been producing cider and txakoli alongside the chapel of the Virgen de Lorea. A legacy passed down through generations, keeping the connection with this land alive.

One estate, one landscape,
one identity.

21 hectares in a single estate in the Otxaran valley. Gentle hills, Atlantic climate and morning mists that envelop the vineyard at dawn.

Four varieties, one essence.

Hondarrabi Zuri, Hondarrabi Beltza, Hondarrabi Zerratia —our most distinctive variety— and Sauvignon Blanc.
Four interpretations of the same landscape.

The fog changes everything.

It protects the grapes, regulates ripening and defines the freshness of our wines. It is the silent soul of the valley.

The art of transforming
grapes into identity.

Every decision is born from respect for the vineyard and the history that precedes us.

Let nature
set the pace.

Every decision is born from respect for the vineyard and the history that precedes us.

Each bottle is a
reflection of our
history and the land
that gave it life.
